Mission: Our mission is to help children grow into confident, joyful, well-rounded adults with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions they need to pursue their goals and lead meaningful lives.
Vision: We envision a world where people live in community with one another, and experience joy, meaning, and success.
Values:
Nature. Humans are part of the natural world. For most of our history, we lived in close relationship with nature, and our bodies and minds still reflect those origins. We believe meaningful learning and healthy development are strengthened by opportunities to engage with the natural world.
Community and Connection. People are meant to live, learn, and grow in relationship with one another. We believe strong relationships and a sense of belonging provide the foundation for meaningful learning and flourishing.
Learning. Learning is natural, authentic, continuous, and often messy and non-linear. We value curiosity, exploration, observation, and discovery, while recognizing that some knowledge and skills are best developed through intentional, explicit instruction.
Risk. The world is inherently risky, and children need opportunities to encounter and navigate appropriate risk. Rather than attempting to eliminate every risk, we help children develop the judgment, confidence, and skills to assess and manage risk for themselves.
